These scarves are hand woven from Minnesota wool, from a farm in Lonsdale where my friend Stacy raises chickens, pigs, sheep and a horse or two. She has invested deeply in her land and her animls and believes that the things coming directly from the earth, that are pure and free from herbicides and insecticides, homone injections and food additives are what we need in our lives to bring humanity back into balance. The scarves are woven with the wool sheared from Dottie, Kena, Blanche, Margret, Ardelle, & Sandy . They are soft and warm and have a tone-on-tone geometric texture that subtly shows itself in sunshine and shadow. Every step of the way is transparent and direct. The wool was sheared on the farm and sent to Hastings MN to be processed (cleaned and spun into yarn) at a cottage fiber processing mill. From there it was shipped to Small Dog Weaving Mill to be woven into winter scarves that will most certainly keep you warm!
